About Ashwin Sridhar
Mr. Sridhar has an illustrious career in urology, marked by his dedication to advancing the field through clinical practice, education and research. He obtained his first medical qualification (MBBS) in 2008 from the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute in India, before moving over to the UK in order to complete an MSc in surgical technology at the Imperial College London.
Following on from this, he undertook six years of intensive urology training at University College London Hospital, where he gained a valuable and significant amount of experience in various urological subspecialties, focusing on the management of urological cancer.
• Prostate Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment: Mr. Sridhar is adept at utilizing advanced imaging techniques and robotic surgery to diagnose and treat prostate cancer, ensuring precision and minimal invasiveness, as well as good recovery of sexual and genitourinary function while curing cancer.
• Bladder Cancer Management: He is an experienced specialist and mentor for other surgeons in the use of robotic technology for bladder cancer surgeries, including robotic cystectomy and creation of neobladders, which offers patients reduced recovery times and fewer complications.
• Benign Prostatic problems: Mr. Sridhar is skilled in managing benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), employing minimally invasive techniques to improve patient quality of life; as well other prostate conditions contributing to chronic pelvic pain.
• Benign bladder conditions: Mr Sridhar provides expert assessment of commons bladder conditions such as overactive bladder or urinary incontinence and offers initial management for these conditions
• Male genitourinary conditions: His expertise extends to the treatment of Urological conditions affecting male genitourinary organs.
• Injury to Urological organs during surgery for other conditions: Mr Sridhar regularly works as part of multidisciplinary teams to provide urological input to complex pelvic conditions. If patients do have injury to urological tissues during surgery for other conditions, Mr Sridhar can provide treatment to correct these injuries.

Mr Sridhar's main research interests include oncological and functional outcomes in urological pelvic cancer surgery and image-guided surgery in urology. Mr Sridhar is currently a trainer for robotic surgery, and has a keen interest in providing quality assurance of surgical treatment by improving surgical techniques and thereby enhancing patient experience. He has presented in multiple national and international conferences, and his work has been published in various prestigious peer-reviewed journals.
